BrandedLogoDesigns SCAM: Serious deficiencies with password managers

BrandedLogoDesigns SCAM

The Fraunhofer SIT has discovered large security gaps with several Android password managers and advises users to urgently update.
To use a different password for each user account increases the security, but unfortunately is also very annoying, since you have to memorize dozens of passwords. As a result, so-called password management apps promise. In this app all the desired access codes are stored and you only have to remember a single master password. But what if this password is cracked? Then the hacker has free access to all access data stored in the app.
Researchers at the Fraunhofer Institute for Information Technology (SIT) have discovered serious safety gaps with several Android password managers. For example, some applications would store the master password in the plain text on the smartphone. This makes it easy for hackers to bypass encryption and access the stored data.
Other apps, in turn, would not delete the clipboard after the credentials were copied to it. This clipboard can practically be read out from any other app, thus enabling so-called "sniffing". The biggest risk, of course, is the loss of the smartphone.
Updating Apps as fast as possible
After the researchers of the Fraunhofer SIT informed the manufacturers about these defects, everyone would have responded immediately and corrected the errors. Users are therefore strongly advised to update their password manager.Affected apps:

BrandedLogoDesigns SCAM: Deutsche Post will now collect funds for mailboxes

On Ash Wednesday, everything is over - this also applies to hundreds of thousands of free mailboxes in Germany. As of March, Deutsche Post will charge a fee from all users. This is due to higher costs and declining mail volumes.
Anyone who takes his letters from a mailbox in the future must pay for them. From 1 March, Deutsche Post will collect a fee of EUR 19.90 per year from private customers and professionals for the use of such a mailbox. Up to now, customers only have to pay a single payment of 15 euros for the facility. Swiss Post had already notified the changes at the beginning of the year.
A company spokesman pointed out that paid mailboxes are so unusual. For example, users would have to pay 12 DM per year for a mailbox. Later the fee was canceled.Increased costs

The post justified the step of reintroducing a price, among other things with increased costs for real estate, the maintenance and maintenance of mailboxes and higher electricity costs. New customers have had to pay for their letters themselves in a post office since July last year.

At the moment, Swiss Post has a total of 818,000 mailboxes nationwide. The overwhelming majority of users are traders, the spokesman stressed. The introduction of a mailbox rental results in a supplementary revenue of approximately 16 million euros per year for Swiss Post.

Mail volume of the mail decreases

The use of mailboxes has also declined in recent years, according to the company. The speaker did not mention a number. Every fifth letter is currently to be posted in a mailbox.

In the meantime, Swiss Post's mail volume decreases annually by an average of two to three percent. The reason for this is the spread of digital competition such as SMS, e-mail and numerous messenger services around Facebook, Whatsapp and Co. Also the post has developed digital offers, such as the e-mail or the own messenger service SIMSme.

brandedlogodesings scam: Huawei brings the Watch 2

Huawei is releasing three new watches to the Smartwatch market and wants to mix them with new fitness features.
The smartwatch market is highly competitive, since providers such as Fitbit and Garmin have disputed these classic smartwatch providers. This does not stop Huawei, however, from bringing three new smart watches to the market. This time, however, there is also a somewhat sportier version and, last but not least, a high-end porschesign design based on the partnership with the Mate 9. The latter special version will be willing buyers but only some later later this year on the market.

There are differences in material processing. While the normal Huawei watch has a plastic ring, the classic version comes in a stainless steel case. Both the plastic and the stainless steel versions will be IP68-certified or protected from dust and water. Both variants are protected by gorilla glass and have a diameter of 42 millimeters.

The screen measures 1.2 inches and is designed to provide a resolution of 390 x 390 pixels. The predecessor was slightly larger with 1.4 inches and could offer a resolution of 400 x 400 pixels. During the battery runtime, Huawei takes a little time in the trick box: An extreme energy saving mode is to extend the running time of the clock to up to 25 days. In this mode, only the time can be read, and the steps are counted. The 420 mAh strong battery is to ensure in conventional operation again for a running time of more than two days.

All watches are equipped with a Snapdragon-2100 processor, offer 768 MB of RAM and 4 GB of internal memory. Again, GPS, NFC, Bluetooth and also versions with LTE are added. A heart rate monitor is also included with the game. Depending on the country, the LTE versions will have an additional nano-SIM slot or are based on eSIM. Pre-installed is the new Android Wear 2.0.

BrandedLogoDesigns SCAM: CeBIT and Intel show drones in practice

BrandedLogoDesigns SCAM

This year, CeBIT visitors can examine the practicality of drones in the new "drones park". Together with Intel, the IT fair wants to prove the usefulness of the aircraft there.
The CeBIT and the Chipriese Intel have a great deal of effort to demonstrate examples of the use of drones in the economy. On this year's IT fair (March 20-24), an open-air drone park will be used to demonstrate how the small aircraft can be used to inspect the rigs and wind turbines. For this, models are being built next to Hall 2. The data is transferred to the Intel booth and evaluated there."The awareness of what can already be done with drones has to be sharpened," said Christian Lamprechter. Intel wants to put in the business above all a technical platform - but also above all with the German purchase Ascending Technologies own devices offer. "We are a data company that fires billions of networked and intelligent devices across the data center infrastructure."While the drone park will only be implemented with Intel, there will be a specialized area for other providers in Hall 17, said Messechef Oliver Frese. Last year, the Drohnenshow already attracted 100,000 visitors in the hall. This time the area had four times more exhibitors. CeBIT wants to make digitalization possible with its partners.Intel raisesIntel has been committed to the still young technology for some time. The hardware expert took over the German drone manufacturer Ascending Technologies about the beginning of last year. Its professional drone Falcon 8+ with Intel technology caused in October for a look. The Octacopte is designed specifically for industrial maintenance inspections on difficult terrain. For example, service personnel with the drone can make 3D images of oil platforms or large jumbo jets. The aircraft is also suitable for land surveying via gimbal (gimbal suspension).

BrandedLogoDesigns Scam: Amazon echo available to all

From now on all Amazon customers can order an echo - a personal invitation is no longer necessary. The smart assistant Alexa is now available to all customers in Germany.

Amazon customers in Germany can now buy the smart loudspeaker Echo. Previously, the networked voice-controlled assistant was only available in Germany on invitation, the online trade giant said. Only customers, who helped Alexa with the development of the corresponding speech control technology, were able to test the service. With Alexa, Amazon competes with Google Now, Siri of Apple and Cortana of Microsoft.

Echo and the smaller version Dot can perform tasks such as an alarm clock, add a shopping list, order consumables in connection with Amazon Prime, or answer questions using Internet sources. The service can control the networked household, such as opening the garage door. In addition, the networked loudspeaker can be linked to music services such as Spotify or Amazon Music, or radios can be played using the app TuneIn.

How Amazon echo works

Echo is equipped with a total of seven microphones with directional beam technology and improved noise suppression. This makes it possible for the voice assistant to recognize and understand speech signals from the user from every corner of the room. The directional beam technology combines the signals from the individual microphones in order to suppress noise, reverb, running music and even other voices in the background. The down-facing dual downfire speakers are also designed to provide 360-degree sound with immersive surround sound.
New Skills from Alexa

At the launch of Amazons Echo, Alexa was able to play music, answer questions, predict the weather, set the alarm clock, play back messages, and write shopping and to do lists. In the last few months Alexa, according to Amazon, but has learned a few hundred new skills and improved their accuracy as well as speech recognition. It is actually the "brain" behind Amazon Echo. This is why it is essential for the success of the AWS Cloud-based language service to be continually developed and improved.

Brandedlogodesign SCAM: Toshiba is looking for investors for the storage business

The cracking IT company Toshiba apparently looks for several investors for its storage chip business. In this way the Japanese want to decimate the influence of the new co-owners.

Hardware giant in the crisis: the troubled Japanese electronics group Toshiba wants to bring several investors into the boat in the partial sale of its storage chip division, according to a press release. This would prevent Toshiba, a single new co-owner to take too much influence on the business, reported the Japanese newspaper "Nikkei" on Friday, according to inaugurated persons. The Group wants to repel a share of 19.9 percent of its storage chip business. Semiconductor manufacturers Micron from the USA, SK Hynix from South Korea and Toshiba's US partner Western Digital have already issued bids.

According to the report, the Foxconn Group from Taiwan also reported interest in a shareholding. Toshiba also talks to other potential investors.

However, buyer search does not seem easy. "Nikkei" quotes several insiders who estimate the investment face-to-face of Toshiba's conditions as not very attractive. The reason for this was that they were given only a small degree of co-right with the small participation.

Toshiba is armed for depreciation billions

The planned partial sale is not voluntary. Toshiba urgently needs money due to problems of its US nuclear power plant builder CB & I Stone & Webster. The depreciation of billions is likely to be due to the fact that Japanese businesses are weak. According to previous information from the news agency Bloomberg and the Japanese agency Kyodo these could make up to 700 billion Yen, converted around 5.8 billion euro. How high the sum really is, is to be announced on Tuesday (14 February).

At the end of last year the signs for Toshiba were still quite good. The Group succeeded in returning to the black figures by means of massive restructuring, after a balance sheet scandal had led to strong losses. A research commission found at the time that the company had systematically generated too high a profit for years. The balance sheets had to be corrected several times downwards, a total of around 225 billion yen.

In the course of the restructuring, a total of 10,500 employees were dismissed. In addition, eight members of the company's management had to leave the group, which were decisively involved in the balance sheet. The company's CEO, Hisao Tanaka and his predecessor, Norio Sasaki, were also present.

BrandedLogoDesigns Scam: Nvidia presents new Quadro-Pascal GPUs

Nvidia has six new professional graphics cards at the Solidworks World trade fair. The devices of the Quadro range rely on powerful graphics chips with a Pascal architecture.
New hardware from the graphics specialist: Nvidia presents its new models of the Quadro series at the Solidworks World trade fair. The six GPUs all use Nvidia's Pascal architecture and are designed for use in powerful workstations to compute complex simulations and VR or AI workflows. At popular interfaces, graphics solutions support DirectX / Direct3D 12, OpenGL 4.5, Vulkan 1.0 as well as CUDA 8, OpenCL 2.0 and DirectCompute.
The new top model is the Nvidia Quadro GP100 with 16 GB of HBM2 memory and 3584 shader arithmetic cores. Added to this are 1792 cores for double-precision calculations (double precision / FP64). With this equipment the GP100 is to achieve a performance of a maximum of 20.7 TFLOPS (FP16), which predicts the hardware according to the manufacturer for AI and VR-Computing. Thanks to four display port connections, the GPU can simultaneously operate four 4K displays with 120 Hz or four 5K displays with 60 Hz. A DVI port for older displays is also available.
Nvidia Quadro GP100 costs 7,000 eurosIn addition, two GP100 cards can be operated together in one workstation using the NVLink technology, which increases the memory capacity to 32 GB. Such a configuration, however, also has its price: Nvidia calls for the Quadro GP100 a price of around 7,000 euros.
In addition to the new Quadro GP100, the Quadro P4000, P2000, P1000, P600 and P400 models complement the manufacturer's range. The models differed essentially based on the built-in memory and the number of shader compute cores. All new Quadro graphics cards will be available from March this year.
